Meet the Heart Behind Pampered Paws

Hi everyone, I’m Petra, the face and heart behind Pampered Paws Dog Boarding

I wanted to take a moment to share a tiny snippet and something a little personal about why I started this business, and what inspired me to open my heart and home to your beautiful doggies.

It all began with two very special Westies: Baillie and Brodie. They weren’t just pets, they were our family, our joy, and our little shadows.

Our Sweet Boy,Baillie came into our lives in 2009 at just 6 months old. Sadly, he hadn’t known love before us, crated 24/7, never walked, and drinking from a rabbit bottle . But he blossomed with care and affection, and years later, even as he bravely battled diabetes, he remained the sweetest, most trusting boy. In November 2023, we heartbreakingly had to say goodbye, after him taking fits and Vets said he had a Brain Tumour

Then there was our little Baby Girl, Brodie, who joined us in 2010. She was the most adorable little girl, full of sass and spark. At just 2 years old she fought through meningitis and bounced back with resilience, living a beautiful life filled with cuddles and love. After Baillie passed, she changed, she was a lot quieter, a little lost without her best friend. Tragically, in November 2024, we discovered an inoperable cancerous inoperable mass, and had to let her go too.

Losing them both left a huge hole in our hearts and our home. I work from home, and hubby is out working all day as a driving instructor, and the silence without them was unbearable.

I wasn’t ready for another dog of my own… but a lovely friend gave me an idea that changed everything:

“Why don’t you look after other people’s dogs?”

And just like that, Pampered Paws was born.

After setting everything up myself like the social media side of things, get my Boarding license, and making sure I have the right insurances etc we passed out council inspection

Now I get to give all my love, cuddles, and care to your furr babies, treating them like they’re my own, in a safe and happy home where they get 1-2-1 attention, just like Baillie and Brodie had.

Thank you for trusting me ,it means more than you know

Love,Petra
